My aunt, who is an immigrant, is applying for health insurance because she's pregnant. Any idea what this is supppose to be, and where do I find it?

  1. It's the "A" number on her green card.

  2. Why don't you call the INS and ask them?

  3. Yak Rider is correct. That number should be her A number you can find that on her green card or in all the letters she received from USCIS.

  4. INS (Immigration and Naturalization Services) doesn't exist anymore, now it's called USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services).

I suppose you're talking about the Alien Registration Number, also known as "A" number.

If your aunt is a permanent resident or has a green card, then there you can find it, if she's still going through a pending application, then it should be on a receipt notice or any document that USCIS may have sent her.
