Indian Premier League season 4 - Full of memorable moments
Who was the first batsman to hit a six in the ongoing fourth season of the Indian Premier League? If you are asked this million-dollar question then remember the answer –
Guess who picked up the first wicket in the competition? The answer is and the earliest exciting and thrilled moment of the lucrative Twenty20 league was when within a span of few balls, the wicket fell and the sixes were hit.
The fourth season of the famous and controversial league is a bit different from the previous edition as the new commissioner, Chirayu Amin, is running the party in place of and two new outfits are included to make things more electrifying.
Warne, who announced his retirement from IPL during the ongoing event, tried his best to make headlines but unfortunately in a bad way.  One attention-grabbing incident which will stay in the minds of cricket fans is the dispute between the two cricket greats,
Sachin Tendulkar and, over Jaipur wicket
Tendulkar termed Jaipur pitch as two-paced and totally different track from the ones being used in the competition. In response, Warne lashed out at Tendulkar’s comments and said, “Mumbai still is not relishing the fact that they were restricted to 94 for
8 and that is why they are searching for excuses. They should admit that they were outplayed if they were outplayed.”
Warne’s story did not end there, as he had a serious spat with the Dixit. The former Aussie leg-spinner used some very harsh words against him and in the backdrop of that row, Warne was slapped with
a hefty fine of $ 50,000.
However, Warne also doubled the joy of cricket with some romantic moments, as the love-laden kiss with his Irish girl friend, Elizabeth Hurley, was one of the loveliest moments in the ongoing tournament.
Kolkata Knight Riders, who are currently lying at the fourth spot in the points table, qualified for knockouts for the first time in the IPL history. Although, the Kolkata side has been performing reasonably well so far in the tournament, they have been
receiving a poor response from home crowd. The absence of Kolkata’s superstar Ganguly in the KKR line-up is considered to be prime reason of such a terrible response.
Aiding fuel to fire, Ganguly made the decision to join Pune outfit and increased Shahrukh Khan’s headache. Furthermore, Subramanium Badrinath’s performance in the tournament not only impressed Chennai’s fans but also impressed Indian national selectors who
selected him in the Indian one-day international (ODI) squad for the upcoming tour to
Lasith Malinga’s sudden retirement and the changes in the date of Sri Lankan players’ return are also some memorable things in the tournament.
After winning first game in the season, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost three games in row. Then joined the party and he is still unstoppable in the IPL 2011. Interestingly, the orange cap is still changing heads, as at one stage it belonged
to came up with that at one time but then Gayle was the man who stole that away from his head.
As the fourth season of league enters into its play-offs, the excitement and thrill of the game has reached to its maximum. There are still four games left in the tournament and it will not be wrong to say there are still many memorable incidents to happen
in the next few days.
