Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero has reiterated that he will not return to his current club for the upcoming 2011/12 season. The player is currently on national team duty in the Copa and the Argentine international plans to switch tracks with
Los as soon as the competition concludes.
The 23-year-old hitman revealed last month that he intends to leave for the upcoming term and also claimed that he already knows his possible destination. Now the talismanic striker has unveiled that he has informed his club about his decision and
his representatives are in the process of talks with the club officials.
Aguero was recently talking to the ESPN reporters and answering questions regarding his future, the striker revealed:
"I will not return to Atletico, it is clear. I talked to the club, gave a statement, now my representatives are negotiating my departure from the club. I don't know when the agreement will be, but I will know when the Copa America is finished."
The striker is currently tracked by Manchester City, Milan and previously, Juventus were considered to be the frontrunners for his acquisition. However, Juventus bailed out of the run as the price tag at 45 million Euros was
considered too steep by the Bianconeri.
Juventus have been on a squad revamp strategy since the start of the summer transfer window. La Vecchia Signora are ambitious to make a comeback in the Italian top flight and are keen to return to European football as they have missed European action for
two consecutive years now.
The Lady Killers have revealed their next target for the spot of attacker in the squad. Villarreal’s striker Giuseppe Rossi has been unveiled as the new top choice of Juve and there are bright chances that the Italians would be able to convince the Spanish
outfit to get the signature of the striker. Moreover, Rossi is tagged at 30 million Euros, a price tag Juve are willing to pay for the mercurial Italian international.
