Hamstring injury sidelines AFC Ajax’s Nicolai Boilesen – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports from Amsterdam Arena have confirmed that Frank de Boer, Ajax Amsterdam head coach, will have to do without the services of Nicolai Boilesen for a few weeks. The 19-year-old sustained a hamstring injury during the match against Eindhoven at Philips
Stadion on Sunday, September 18.
The young left-back is a product of the Amsterdam giants’ fabled youth academy and made his debut for the club earlier this year.
The Danish stopper tore his hamstring muscle during a sprint duel with PSV’s took his place on the field.
Reports indicate that the youngster will miss the important league match against Enschede. Worst still, the 19-year-old will also watch the UEFA Champions League encounter against Real Madrid from the stands.
The Amsterdammers had to deal with another blow when taking his place.
Reports from Amsterdam indicate that the 22-year-old has not sustained a serious injury and will likely make his appearance in the upcoming encounter against league leaders Twente.
The Amsterdammers will commence their KNVB beker Cup voyage against VV Noordwijk on Wednesday, September 21. De Joden manager has already revealed that he would be resting some of his players for this encounter.
“Anita has a bruise on his ankle. Sigthorsson also complained about a groin injury. I do not have to worry about him, because I have Bulykin on the bench. Ideally, I want to deploy my first team. But at this stage of the season, with an incredibly heavy
series, it might be good to give rest to some players”, De Boer said while talking to the media.
The Dutch trainer’s intentions seems clear that he wants to keep his troops fresh for tough upcoming encounters against Twente and Real Madrid.
