AFC Ajax’s Toby Alderweireld anxious to become Dutch champions again next season – Dutch Eredivisie news

and is already aiming to repeat the feat come the end of the next season.
While talking to the media, Alderweireld said, “It was all so beautiful and overwhelming. These are the moments you remember all your life. The atmosphere in the stadium was really amazing for Dutch standards. The pressure was immense, but if you play such
a game, you deserve to win.”
The 22-year-old defender is a product of the famed Ajax youth academy and started his professional career in the 2008/09 season. However, the Belgian International secured his place in the starting eleven for the Amsterdammers last season. He came close
to lifting the title last term, but Twente were crowned champions on the last day. The Belgian International did not have to wait long for the coveted prize.
The young defender is optimistic about his side competing successfully at highest levels next season as well. He believes that the Amsterdammers’ future is bright with so many young players performing impressively at Amsterdam Arena.

We could once again lift the title.”

However, the 22-year-old defender might have to look for a new partner in the upcoming season as Vertonghen is expected to leave Amsterdam Arena in the upcoming summer transfer market.
The 22-year-old defender’s current contract runs until the summer of 2014. Despite several clubs having shown interest in adding the youngster to their ranks, Alderweireld has denied all speculations and has clarified that he wants to pursue his career at
Amsterdam Arena for the next couple of seasons.
