Ganguly to lead Bengal in Vijay Hazare Trophy, given charge of Jharkhand for Ranji limited overs East Zone league
Bengal Cricket Association on Saturday appointed former Indian skipper on February 20, 2012.
BCA selectors also picked a 16-man squad for the tournament. The regular captain of Bengal, these days with the national team, and is unlikely to return to the state side in the first half of the domestic one-day tournament.

"Sourav was so keen to play for Bengal that he did not do commentary in the Commonwealth Bank series," said, the Chairman of state selection committee, while speaking to media reporters after announcing the squad.
Ganguly, the 39-year-old left-handed batsman, has also led in the latest edition of the money spinning Twenty20 league, commencing
in Chennai on April 4, this year.
Bengal will kick start their Vijay Hazare campaign against in Kolkata on Monday, February 20, 2012.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand also named their 15-member squad for the domestic one-day tournament in Jamshedpur on Saturday. Saurabh Tiwary will lead the side in the Ranji limited overs East Zone league., Secretary of Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) told the media reporters that the selectors have also included two new faces in the squad and hoped the youngsters will live up to the hopes of selectors and the team management. The new
faces in the squad are medium pace bowling all-rounder Ajatshatru and left-arm spinner Sujit Yadav.
Seam bowler, who was impressive in the first class tournament, has also been retained.
Jharkhand will kick start the East Zone league on February 22 against at Kolkata.
