Indian premier middle-order batsman, VVS Laxman relishes the prospect of touring Down Under later in the year and hopes to perform well under tough conditions.
The classy batsman had a torrid time with the bat on the team’s recent tour of the Poms; however, he still remains an integral part of the team when it comes to the longer version of the game. Then Men In Blue are scheduled to travel to Australia at the
end of the year and player is hoping to perform well against a tough opposition.

A wristy player, Laxman has been a renowned match-winner when it comes to facing the Kangaroo contingent . His first major contribution for the team came in 2001, where he played a sublime knock of 281, which included a mammoth partnership of 376 runs with helping the team to win the match after being followed-on from their first innings.
The pair again became a thorn in the Aussie’s flesh in 2003-04 tour of Down Under, partnering in another 300-run plus partnership. It was on this visit, where the player earned the most admiring remark from the Kangaroos contingent, who even came to the
conclusion that they had no idea where to bowl to him.
In 25 matches against the Kangaroos side, the 37-year-old has scored over 2000 runs, averaging a whopping 55.59, with 11 fifties and 6 centuries to his name.
The sub-continent team will begin the tour with two practice matches, followed by 4 Test match series with the first Test being played from December 26.
After a poor showing in their last away outing against, the team will look to be fully prepared in playing under pitches, which will offer bounce and pace. For that, they will need Laxman to be in top form in order for the side to get back to winning
ways in the pinnacle format of cricket.
