United made their intentions very clear as they opened the scoring on the night, just two minutes into the game. whipped in a cross that was flicked on by John O'Shea. The loose ball was then nodded into the back of
the net by Berbatov, who happened to be present at the right spot.

minute for the second time. Rooney charged towards the Birmingham back-line, before slipping a ball onto Berbatov. The striker then took a brilliant first touch to set himself up to smack a shot into the back of the net.
However, just when it looked like the half was going to end, United found the back of the net for the third time.

Giggs, who smashed the ball into the back of the net.

deadly cross into the area. Berbatov was once again the man at hand to slide in and place the ball into the back of the net.
