Alexander Buttner: Theo Janssen’s arrival at Vitesse will be nice

The Arnhem outfit full-back insists that a move back to GelreDome Stadion for the Ajax Amsterdam midfielder would boost his side’s chances of achieving good results this term.
Reports in Dutch media indicate that Ajax Amsterdam midfielder,, is heavily linked with a move to Vitesse Arnhem before the ongoing summer transfer window.

Janssen, who started his professional career at GelreDome Stadion in the 1998/99 season, joined the Amsterdam giants before the start of the 2011/12 campaign after spending three years at De Grolsch Veste.
The versatile midfielder, who made 86 appearances for the Enschede giants and scored 18 goals before moving to Amsterdam Arena, has thus far netted eight goals while setting up eight more along the way in 29 matches to help the Amsterdammers become Dutch
champions for the 31st time in the club’s history.
His impressive performances garnered him interest from several European clubs including his former club,, who have expressed keen interest in signing the midfielder before the ongoing summer transfer window slams shut.
Buttner, who has been representing the outfit from Arnhem since the summer of 2008, has insisted that Janssen’s arrival at GelreDome Stadion will enhance their chances of finishing in the top five Eredivisie sides at the end of the ongoing campaign.
“I have read only stories about his arrival, but it would be nice. There are certainly other clubs interested in acquiring his services, but I hope he joins his old club”, the 23-year-old left-back was quoted as saying to Voetbal International.
The highly-rated full-back, who has played over 100 matches the Arnhem outfit, was heavily linked with a move away from GelreDome Stadion earlier this summer. Southampton came close in landing his signature, but the move failed to materialise, as the newly
promoted English Premier League side failed to meet Vitesse’s asking price.
Vitesse finished seventh on the league table last term, and would be aiming to finish at a better place this time around under the tutelage of Rutten.
