  1. While there is much to do here on Earth, The money squandered is mind boggling!  We need to rein in our selfish qualities and start looking skyward.  There is much to be gained by space exploration, even if only to find new ground once we have depleted our resources here.  Sace has something to offer everyone from the selfish and greedy, to the most altruistic.  I don't think we need to be spending our GNP on it, but we defiantly need to start thinking out of the box so to speak.  It truly is one of the final frontiers.

  2. Humanity always moves forward. Technology is the most obvious sign of this journey. Space is expensive and cutting edge so not always seen as necessary, however many life saving techniques/equipment have been taken from these projects, some very important materials  that make life better have also come from the space race (Kevlar, Teflon, carbon fibre  and so on). Much of the science takes years to be utilised but often makes huge differences to peoples lives even if they are not aware of it.

Some people think the money should be spent on earth to alleviate poverty and disease, although, not many people seem to be willing to swap their mobile phone for a vaccination programme in the third world ,so technology keeps marching on.

Where would we be without Kevlar oven-gloves.
