Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini reveals English interest in Javier Pastore: Serie A news
Palermo President, Maurizio Zamparini, has revealed that the English trio of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in signing the highly rated midfielder,
Pastore has become one of the best emerging talents in the continent and has attracted interest from top Spanish sides too. The Argentine international is looking to move to a bigger club in the summer transfer window to prove
his worth in the bigger arena.
Despite the interest from English sides, Zamparini believes that the playmaker might end up joining a Spanish team. La Liga giants, Real Madrid and big money spenders, Malaga have shown immense interest in the player and the duo
are expected to launch a bid for him. However, the president ruled out Barcelona move for the playmaker and added that they already have top quality midfielders at their disposal, so he would not go there.
Talking to the reporters Zamparini said, “The favourites are
because they already have Andres Iniesta and Xavi in that position.”
"I'm sorry to let him go, because he is the only world-beater that I have had at the club as president."
According to recent reports in the media, the 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Italian giants, A.S. Pastore’s Argentine team-mate, Nicolas Burdisso, revealed a few days back that the former Huracan midfielder
is interested in a move to Stadio Olimpico Rome. The Giallorossi chief, Walter Sabatini, also revealed his interest in the midfielder and is reportedly preparing a player plus cash swoop to land the player.
The Rosanero president revealed that if any club wants to sign the player, they will have to make a move within the next fifteen days. Pastore is currently on international duty with 2011 and Palermo
want to resolve his future before the end of the tournament.
Pastore had a hugely successful season with the Italian outfit and scored 14 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions.
