Brittany Lincicome off to a solid start at Safeway Classic 2012

American Brittany Lincicome got off to a solid start at the Safeway Classic 2012 as she posted a 67 in the opening round to tie for the sixth position on the leaderboard.
The tournament being played at the Pumpkin Ridge’s Ghost Creek Course, the United States, also saw three other contenders share the sixth position along with Lincicome as they also scored a 67 each on the first
Lincicome appears to be in a solid from these days as she has recorded good finishes in some of the recent tournaments in the 2012 season. The Safeway Classic 2012 is special for the American star as she is
going to take part in the upcoming CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, set to start next week at The Vancouver Golf Club, Canada.
Lincicome kicked off the round with plenty of confidence and parred the first five holes. She then swung into action and amazed her fans by shooting three straight birdies on the sixth, seventh and eighth hole.
Her momentum did not halt there as she ramped up pressure on her rivals by draining an eagle on the par-5 9th hole. On the back, the American star seemed to lose her momentum a little as she could
not make as solid putts as she made on the front nine.
She reeled off a birdie on the 13th, but faltered on the next hole carding a bogey. Then on the 17th, she made another bogey.
Commentators said that the LPGA titan got off to a stunning start and she could have registered an even bigger score. However, they said that her performance on the back nine was not as good as it was on the
front nine.
The field at the Safeway Classic 2012 is pretty tough as it is featuring prominent names like Michelle Wie, Natalie Gulbis, current world number one Yani Tseng, Brittany Lang, Stacy Lewis, Karrie Webb, Sophie
Gustafson, Morgan Pressel, Pernilla Lindberg, Shanshan Feng and Mika Miyazato.
Speaking to the media about a good start at the tournament, Lincicome said that she was confident that she would be able to post a good score because she focused on her putting and did not lose her nerve.
