Transfer Rumors: July 6th 2010, Chelsea move in on Torres, United in for Sneijder

Chelsea are reported to have officially launched a forty million pound bid for Liverpool striker, Fernando Torres. Roman Abramovich is also reported to have flown out to South Africa to make sure that the deal goes smoothly and to avoid any hiccups along the way.

Chelsea are also looking to sign German midfielder, Sami Khedira. Khedira who is currently employed at Stuttgart, has just a year left on his contract, Stuttgart will be looking to make maximum profit off of him instead of letting him go for free. Manchester United are also reported to be interested in the midiflder.

Alex Ferguson has gone ahead to say that he wishes to have Wesley Sneijder lead United’s midfield next season. Sneijder is currently arguably the best player at the San Siro, Rafa Benitez would have to be really stupid if he lets his prized asset leave. Arsenal are on the verge of having Mark Schwarzer join them. Arsenal are all but set to agree to a deal rumored to be around three and a half million pounds with Fulham.

Manchester City may not sign Edin Dzeko after all. City are unwilling to spend the thirty five million pounds that are needed to release Dzeko of his contract, the club does not value the forward to be worth more than twenty million pounds. Juventus however may beat City to Dzeko’s signature if City keep delaying time like they are. Mikel Arteta may not be joining City as well, the Everton midfielder would be sidelined at the club after their purchase of David Silva and hence would prefer to stay at Everton where he would get more than enough playing time.

West Ham are almost certainly signing Scott Parker in the next few days. Jermaine Pennant may also make his way to West Ham after Wolves rejected a possibility of signing the winger. Fredreric Piquionne is set to have his medical at West Ham today, he has agreed a move to the Hammers from Lyon for a sum rumored to be around one million pounds.

Additionally, Fulham are currently without a manager, following Roy Hodgson’s departure to Anfield. The most probable prospects who are being considered to replace Hodgson at Fulham are, Sven Goran Eriksson and Alan Curbishley. Werder Bremen on the other hand have denied receiving any offers for Mesut Ozil. Ozil who has been Germanys main attacking threat from midfield currently plays for Bremen but after his spectacular displays at the FIFA World Cup is South Africa, it won’t be long before the big guns of Europe come knocking on Bremen’s door for the player.

City are offering out of favor striker, Robinho to Valencia on a season long deal. The striker played most of last season on loan at Santos and has told the City officials that he does not wish to continue playing for the team. Manchester City plan on letting him play in Spain on loan for another season, in hopes that the player might change his mind and stay at the Eastlands.
