Shakhtar Donetsk’s Taras Stepanenko speaks on his recovery

Taras Stepanenko assures the fans of good performances after recovering from a thigh injury and explains the healing process
While most of the Shakhtar Donetsk players travelled abroad for their vacations, the Miners defensive midfielder,, preferred to stay in his native city.
While talking to the media, the Ukrainian national has explained his fitness and assured the fans of brilliant performances when the Ukrainian Premier League resumes in March 2012.
Stepanenko lamented the injury and admitted that he is itching to get back on the pitch. The midfielder went on to reveal the importance of the operation and revealed that he got operated upon his thigh as he was unable to play
at his full potential.
“I felt pain during a training session before the match against Barcelona. I was told to rest but I didn’t do that.
“My restoration began with simple exercises. Then I gradually increased the pace. I was advised by doctors that when you start to feel pain, you should immediately slow down the pace. Otherwise there is a risk of aggravating the
injury.” The former FC Metalurh Zaporizhya player was quoted as saying.
The former FC Kharkiv player revealed that the rehabilitation process started at the end of October last year and revealed his satisfaction on his league performances after the injury.
Speaking on the Miners last season, the midfielder admitted that they had a wonderful season and identified their achievements. Shakhtar managed to win the domestic league along with the Russian Cup last season.
To the surprise of many, Shakhtar managed to reach the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League last year before they were knocked out by the eventual winners,
Stepanenko admitted that the current season has turned out good for them but bemoaned the early exit from the Champions league. 
However, he expressed his delight upon winning the crucial cup tie against arch rivals, Dynamo Kyiv, and assured the fans of further hard work.
Shakhtar failed to extend their run in Europe this season after finishing last in their Champions League group. Stepanenko revealed that the entire team was saddened after their shock exit.
