New York Giants’ Brandon Jacobs renders apology over Gisele Bundchen remarks – NFL News Update
New York Giants’ Brandon Jacobs has retracted from his earlier statement to render an apology to New England Patriots’ quarterback, Tom Brady’s wife over having lashed out at her earlier on over remarks in which she took to blaming the Patriots receivers
over the Super Bowl loss.
Jacobs talking to the on The Doug Gottlieb Show agreed that he should respect her.
"Given the fact that it's a colleague of mine's wife, I do apologize for saying that, because I shouldn't have said that. It's his wife and I should respect that just as much as anyone else." Jacobs said.
Jacobs had suggested in front of reporters that Brady’s wife should "stay cute and shut up."
A statement by Tom Brady or his wife in this regard had not come up so far.
Gisele Bundchen had gone on to defend her husband in front of her friends when some Giants fans heckled at her for the Super Bowl loss as she was waiting for an elevator in Lucas Oil Stadium. Not knowing that her comments were being captured on a camera
she went outright to hit on the Patriots’ receivers saying her husband could not throw and catch the ball at the same time.
Though the Patriots’ spokesman and her husband, Tom Brady were silent over her remarks, safety James Ihedigbo had come forward to support his team mates saying the loss cannot be blamed on anyone as the team had been winning and losing as a whole and pointed
out the contributions Wes Welker, one of the Patriots receivers had made to lead the team to the Super Bowl event.
The Super Bowl game had been marred for the Patriots as a result of missed passes by receivers that denied them the opportunity to score touchdown and subsequently resulted in the Giants emerging victorious.
Welker missed out an important pass in late fourth quarter of the game that denied the Patriots a chance to score a touchdown. Welker was seen near to tears at the end of the game as the Giants won 21-17.
Wide receiver Deion Branch and tight end Aaron Hernandez too were the ones to miss passes as the Patriots went in their final desperate drive to score a touchdown.
However, it is quite clear that Welker who came up with his career’s best performance this season will survive the heat.
The 30-year-old player with 122 receiving for 1,569 yards and nine touchdowns this season played a determining role in leading the Patriots to the Super Bowl stage.
