Moussa Sow of LOSC Lille tracked by Manchester City and Arsenal – Ligue 1 news
Senegal international, Moussa Sow is attracting a lot of interest from English Premier League sides Manchester City and Arsenal.
Last season, the Lille man was the top scorer in Ligue 1 and since then, the 25-year-old has been one of the most sought-after strikers in France. Sow joined Lille from Stade Rennais last summer and scored 25 goals in 36 Ligue 1 games in his maiden season
with Les Dogues.
Though not many expected Sow to adjust so quickly with life at Lille, the Villeneuve d’Ascq management has already started working on extending international has never stated his desire to leave the club but
reports in French now suggest that the striker is getting annoyed at the pace of the negotiations.
According to French football daily, Football, Moussa Sow wants negotiations to end quickly and is now seriously considering other offers. Furthermore, his status as the topscorer in Ligue 1 last season is already making it hard for Lille to hold on
to him.
In the January transfer window this year, Newcastle United were heavily linked with the former Stade Rennais man but the 25-year-old chose to stay at the club. Rumours in French media now suggest that Arsenal and Manchester City are considering placing a
bid for the highly-rated striker as they look to make improvements to their respective squads.
Arsenal might be in the market for a new striker if and Arsene Wenger is keen on recruiting one top quality striker this
Manchester City on the other hand, have not yet made a lot of headlines in the summer transfer window apart from the recent signing of Gael Clichy from Arsenal. Tevez’s future at the
club remains a quandary.
The departure of Moussa Sow might give Lille coach Rudi Garcia a lot of headaches. The club is already getting close to losing Gervinho to Arsenal while Pierre-Alain Frau’s departure has left the club short of strikers.  Keeping Sow at the club should be
Lille’s top priority this summer and Les Dogues should sort the negotiations with Sow as quickly as possible.
