Marcus Campbell meets Matthew Stevens in quarter-final of PTC Grand Final
Marcus Campbell will face Matthew Stevens in the quarter-final of Players Tour Championship (PTC) 2010-11 Grand Final today, at the Helix Theatre, in Dublin. The Scotsman
crashed Stuart Bingham of England 4-3 in his last-16 match.
Englishman, Stuart Bingham was supposed to play against Stephen Maguire in last-24 but he received a walkover as Maguire pulled out of the tournament due to the birth of his third child.
Bingham grabbed the first frame 42-82 after he smashed in pretty decent breaks of 38 and 28 to gain a 1-0 quick lead before Campbell capitalised back, firing two impressive breaks of 34
and 38 to catch the frame 72-0 and balance the score 1-1. Before the Euro PTC event 3 winner, Campbell could add more to his account, the Binginator struck again in the third frame pocketing a beautiful 33 and clinched the frame 27-64.
The 38-year-old Campbell equalised the game 2-2 after he sprang back in the next frame to clinch it 66-29. The 1996 IBSF World Amateur champion, Bingham moved within a one frame lead again
as he outplayed the Scottish 2-72 in the fifth frame and led 2-3. No major breaks were potted in first five frames but World Number 32, Marcus Campbell gave in a fine half century break of 58 in the sixth frame as he clinched it 79-44, to level the game 3-3.
Scotsman, Campbell, also known as the Dumbarton Destroyer, cued a sensational century break of 126 to outclass Bingham 126-0 in the decider frame and grabbed the victory 4-3 as well, along
with the quarterfinal spot against Matthew Stevens. The frame scores of the match were 42-82, 72-0, 27-64, 66-29, 2-72, 79-44 and 126-0.
The quarter-final starts today at the Helix Theatre, Dublin.

The Scotsman Marcus Campbell occupies Number 32 spot in World Snooker Rankings 2010-11, revised after the Welsh Open and fourth position in the PTC order of merit. Out of 52 matches, he
holds 36 match wins and a winning percentage of 69.2 so far in the current season. His frame winning ratio is 60.1 percent as he has grabbed 188 frames out of 313.

Stevens is ranked Number 18 in the World Snooker Rankings of 2010-11 season, revised after the Welsh open 2011 and at number 24 spot in the PTC order of merit. Stevens possesses a match
winning percentage of 70.2 as he took part in 57 matches in the ranking events of the current season so far and has been victorious in 40. His frame winning ratio, however, is lower the his match winning ratio which is 58.8 percent as he has clinched 193 frame
out of 328 frames played in the current season.
Campbell and Stevens went head-to-head last time in the round seven of World Snooker Championship 2010 qualifiers, in which Campbell beat Stevens 10-9 after grabbing a decider
