Jack Wilshere: Fabio Capello wants England to play like Barcelona
Arsenal and England midfielder Capello wants the Three Lions to adopt Barcelona’s style of play.
He said, “We watched some videos of Barcelona and the way they pressed their opponents. We tried to do it like them against Wales. We pressed high and the idea was to get some early goals – and we got them. That made it comfortable for ourselves.”
Jack Wilshere, who was given his first competitive start for England, was a vital member of the team that won the Euro 2012 qualifier against rivals Wales at Cardiff recently.
For the first time, Fabio Capello has used the 4-3-3 formation. Jack Wilshere, Frank Lampard and Scott Parker were placed in the midfield while were employed in the attack.

England easily managed to overcome Wales by winning 2-0 and moved to the top spot of their Euro 2012 qualifying round group. Jack Wilshere was happy to be part of the England team that defeated Wales and claimed that the players should be credited for exceptionally
emulating Barcelona’s playing style.
Wilshere, who outshined the likes of, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta to become the Man of the Match in Arsenal’s win over Barcelona, has claimed that the Catalans are the best team in the world.
He said, “ are the best in the world at pressing other teams and we have to learn from teams like that. At my age I am always learning and I can learn from players like that.”
Wilshere, who has featured 45 times for on Wednesday.
