The former Real Madrid midfielder went on to state that his team-mates were eager to leave the disappointment of last season behind them and will aim higher now.
Inter Milan had a turbulent season last term and barely managed to qualify for the Europa League, marginally beating Milan’s training
base in Pinzolo.
The Argentinean went on to remark that there was always a motive before the start of a season, and conceded that pre-season training was a big challenge, but they are totally motivated on tackling it. The former Real Madrid star
also commented that the team were frustrated by their performances over the course of last season. However, he went on to comment that they would be looking to overcome their deficiencies of last year and proving yet again what a force the Beneamata are.
The central midfielder went on to comment that the Nerazzurri had been successful for a long time, and even though they wanted the success to last forever, it was not possible.  Inter Milan’s resurgence started during Mancini’s
era and went on until Jose Mourinho’s era.
He was quoted to have said:
“Of course, it would have been lovely to continue doing so for five, six or even 30 years, but no team can do that. What we had done was already something out of this world.”
While talking to the Inter Channel, the 31-year-old conceded that they had not given due importance to the victories when they were on their winning spree, and remarked:
“Did we initially not give the proper value to those victories? Yes, it's true. But that's perfectly normal. That's what happens in everyday life. People also realise how important their loved ones are once they're no longer around.”
Inter Milan have their training base in Pinzolo, and many players have gone to comment on their motivation to overcome the disappointment of last season.
The Nerazzurri President is also optimistic of the project underway at the club, and he has stated his faith in the skills of the former Primavera boss, Andrea Stramaccioni.
