Can lack of ambition be a medical or brain chemistry problem

  1. Absolutely.  If you have a chemical imbalance in your brain it can lead to bipolar illnesses.  When the neurotransmitters that  produce the serotonin and dopamine go too fast, you get manic and your ambitions are limitless when they go too slow you are lathargic and have little to no ambition and sleep most of the time.

May I suggest you seek medical advice and testing.  Only your doctor can diagnose you.

Good luck to you.  I wish you the very best.

  2. I have never heard of laziness being a medical problem and brain chemistry is highly overrated. If you have a problem with this it may require psychological help which is not a medical problem. For a start type "self motivation techniques" into a Yahoo! web search. A number of links comes up many with helpful methods for overcoming lassitude and many with commercial help. Some links are for forums for people with this problem..
