Anzhi Makhachkala’s Yuri Zhirkov eyeing a win against Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League
The latest Anzhi Makhachkala acquisition, has urged the Wild division to put up a fabulous performance in their upcoming meeting against the Russian giants, Spartak Moscow.
Zhirkov highlighted that Anzhi are going to be a bigger threat for the title contenders in the near future. He expressed that the Russian club are moving in the right direction under the leadership of new owner, Suleyman Kerimov, and the head coach, Gadzhi
“To be honest, absolutely there’s no difference, against whom I play against at my debut. We have an important game away and it is a must win. Anzhi can prove their big ambitions by defeating the likes of Spartacus.” The former FC player was quoted
as saying.
The former CSKA Moscow player revealed he still has friends at the Moscow-based club and they congratulated him after his transfer to the Wild division.
Zhirkov revealed that the Russian Premier League is becoming more competitive as the Russian clubs are buying talents from around the globe in order to compete with the top clubs. The Russian defender highlighted that the transfer of to Spartacus,
Domenico Criscito to Zenit St. Petersburg and the arrival of talents such as and Balazs Dzsudzsak proves the popularity of this league.
The UEFA Cup winning defender assured the fans that he has completely recovered from the injuries and is ready to help the Dikaya Diviziya to kick-start winning.  The FA-Cup winner revealed that the English Premier League is difficult and his compatriots
are also struggling in England.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Pavlyuchenko, FC’s Andrey Arshavin have failed to cement their places in the starting berth of their respective teams.
