Roger Federer celebrates his twins’ first birthday
As most of the top tennis players prepare themselves for the upcoming US Open, party time for tennis star Roger Federer is still not coming to an end. He had been on holidays with his wife Mirka Vavrinec on a yacht in the Mediterranean waters of Corsica in France and has recently held a grand celebration for his twin daughters Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, who turned one on the 23rd of this month.
Myla and Charlene may be the most spoilt twins in the world. Why would they not be? After all, they have a tennis star as a dad and not just any tennis star; it is Roger Federer who is considered to be one of the greatest players in the game of tennis.
Federer is a former world number one and has recently fallen to the position of world number three but his fans still think he is worthy of gaining back his number one spot. This Swiss player has made a record of winning sixteen Grand Slam singles titles and of reaching semi-finals or better in twenty-three consecutive Grand Slam tournaments. This year he has had the highest earnings amongst any other non-American sportsman.
Roger Federer is one tennis celebrity who can afford to spend large amounts of money and when it comes to his daughters there is no compromise. These two little girls may be only one year old but it is rare that any other one year old around the world gets the luxuries these two enjoy.
This year has been crazy for Federer as he has been travelling all over the world on tour. However, he does not travel alone, and he has his faithful wife Mirka and his two daughters to accompany him. The twins probably have more stamps on their passport now as compared to 99.9% of the world’s population. When their father was participating in the Rogers Cup in 2009, he hired a private jet for the twins so that they could fly to Montreal without any hassle. That is one of the perks of being celebrity babies.
Federer put up a note on his facebook page informing the world that they will be celebrating the twins’ birthday in their homeland, Switzerland, where they are having a wonderful time. He has also thanked all his fans for the cards, gifts and lovely words they have blessed Charlene and Myla with. The tennis superstar has fans who keep a track of his life and also the life of his beloved daughters. Now these are what you call extremely loyal fans.
The twins have made the Federers happy beyond words and they enjoy the time spent with them to a full extent. Being a professional tennis player means long hours of training and going from one place to another on tour most of the time. However, Federer still manages to take some time out of his busy schedule in order to spend time with his daughters.
When asked by the media if he has any memorable moments with his kids, he told them that there were countless moments he had spent with them and that he could not just pick one and make it his favourite. He also admitted to have changed the girls’ diapers and said that it was not such a big feat to accomplish. The great Roger Federer changing diapers – that is an odd sight indeed.
While other tennis players are busy starting off with their hard-court game, the former number one is busy spending time with his family. The tennis champion is willing to sacrifice some of his practice for his kids because spending time with them is what makes him happy now.
