The 25-year-old winger has penned down a new deal with the Russian outfit and revealed the preparations ahead of UEFA Champions League tie against
Zenit St. Petersburg winger,, has talked about signing a new contract with the club, and shared his impressions on the upcoming UEFA Champions League clash against SL Benfica.
“This is not a spontaneous decision. Yes, I had a dialogue and some discussions with the management regarding my new contract, but nothing special. I have decided to stay here for at least 3.5 years.” Fayzulin was quoted as saying.
Zenit have been linked with a host of wingers during the January transfer window, yet they failed to complete a deal till the transfer deadline day. If speculations are to be believed, they tried to sign Lokomotiv Moscow player,
However, the failed deal has now given Fayzulin a life line, who penned down a new contract at Petrovsky stadium.
Though Spalletti has used Fayzulin in different positions since his transfer from Spartak Nalchik, the veteran midfielder is full of praise for the Italian tactician. He revealed that he has learnt a lot from the former
Udinese coach and enjoyed every moment at the club.
“I have been really happy here with my family. That is all you want in life. Seriously, I am done here.” The former Okean Nakhodka player concluded.
Fayzulin has played an influential role since his move, helping the St. Petersburg club to win the Russian Premier League title, a Russian Cup and the Russian Super Cup lately.
Aside from the domestic front, the prolific winger has been phenomenal in Europe. He started all the European group stage games and helped the Meshki claim a valuable point against Shakhtar Donetsk by scoring the equalizer.
Speaking on the upcoming European clash against the Portuguese outfit, Fayzulin assured the fans of progressing to the next round in the continental tournament, admitted that the team is practicing hard.
Fayzulin went on to admit the difficulty playing in extreme weather conditions, revealing that they might get sick after returning to from their training camp in Dubai.
