  1. thier laungage is not arabic..only the koran is in arabic..since the majority are muslim they have to know arabic to read the koran although the koran can be adapted to any laungage as is the bible..they changed thier characters to latin when the old ottaman empire came to close.they adopted the latin form of turkish when it beacame known as turkey..as far as the eu is concerned its all about them having a steady economy ..it may happen but ..the same happeden to greece the eu would not let them in for years until its economy was stable.and georaphicaly they are in asia not europe ..only instabul is in europe..and half of the black sea..

  2. well, in 1928  we accepted latin characters for the arabic characters in order to keep up with the Europeans and avoid misunderstandings and chaos. we accepted lots of new staff that days. For example, in 1925 we began to wear hat instead of fez or our weekend was changed to Sunday instead of Friday in 1935 (you know for Islamic people Friday is considered as holy day.) In 1931, we modified our unit of measurement and began to use meters, grams etc. We adapted ourselves in to European Law system.

The person who was such far sighted is ATATÜRK. Those were good days for our country. Don't mixed up with todays politics in Turkey. Nowadays they want to reverse all these civilization and try to become like those in Saudi Arabia or Iran, where there is strict Islamic rules.

You can take this info for why Turkey is considered as a part of Europe.

I don't we will be accepted in to EU. There is so much hostiliy toward Turkey and Turkish people all around Europe. Also I believe that we should give up trying to get into EU while we have still got our pride.

  3. They have a little bit of land in Europe, have been fighting wars with Europeans for centuries, and are at a good location, so they decided to become more European and change their alphabet, their culture, and so many things just to be considered European. One thing that doesn't help is that they are Muslim, and they border Syria, Iraq and Iran. Those are the fanatic Muslim countries, meaning it would be much easier to terrorize Europe, because they could cross the border in Turkey. Also, Turkey is mostly in Asia, which is another reason not to let them in. Plus, the population is huge, which would give them a lot of power, which smaller countries do not want to lose.

  4. They are at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, but historically and politically have more in common with Europe.

They will not, and should not be accepted into the EU until their economy is stabilized and improved. If not, they would be a blight on the EU.

  5. Turkey is physically in Europe, but there is hystorically bad blood between Muslims and Northern Europeans not to mention the fight between Turkey and Greece over Crete for Turkey to be in the EU.  The EU really isn't best for them.  It's been a disaster so far.  It's as efficient as the UN.

  6. I think Turkey should be a member of the EU - it will ensure democratic rights for the Kurds in Turkey, and is generally a much better idea than all the alternatives. (But the absurd agricultural policy of the EU has to be reformed, first).

  7. They are consider Eurasians

one little part is in EUrope so typically can be Europeans as well
