Why does dust re-appear in a room I just dusted?

Question

I've cleaned, dusted, wiped, mopped with hot water and disinfectant, and wiped and dusted some more.

I didn't have the widow open in this particular room and I have no pets. I don't sleep in this room either; it's a spare / study.

So whats the deal with the thick dust days later? Where is it coming from...could the air around here be to blame? Why dust...why?

this is a somewhat silly question. if dust stayed gone forever then a person would only need to dust their house once in a lifetime.

ok first off when you dust unless you are using a dust catcher you are just re-distributing the dust into the air so it will settle again later second disinfecting has nothing to do with dusting and actually makes the problem worst same goes for polish because you are now staticly charging the object and the dust with collect faster and more abundantly-you should always dust with a fan on and the window open for your health and because this help to cleanse the air removing more dust than you think if it is really bugging you invest in a ionic breeze or similiar device this will catch up to 88% of the dust on slides you wash off Good luck

dust is in the air and it settles constantly if you want to get rid of it permanetley by a few air filters to put around the house

This may sound gross, but dust is mostly dead skin. So, all of the dead skin and other particles just float around your house. Since you don't use that room often, you're not walking back and forth, picking up and moving that dust around.

it could be a/c is filter clean? or did you vaccum after dusting? always vaccum first and sweep then dust.

Hahaha...there is dust everywhere, lingering in the air, waiting for you to dust everything, just so it can rest and irk you.  If you look in the sun coming through a window, you can see dust specks floating around.
