Why do Portsmouth owe the London club £1 million for a player who never went to White Hart Lane?

    It's a slightly confusing situation - basically, Begovic was a possible signing for Spurs back in January, but instead he went to Stoke City. However, Spurs had already paid money for Begovic, which is why Pompey owe them the money now.
