What other problems can a back injury cause ?

    Back problems are commonly chronic problems.  They can interfere with work, play or social activities.

    Another problem associated with back injuries is the limited activities one can perform.  This usually leads to the injured gaining weight thus bringing on a slew of other issues like Widespread muscle-skeletal problems, Hypertension, Diabetes as well as coping challenges.

    If things couldn't get worse, many people have a hard time dealing with the onslaught of secondary issues related to back injuries.  That said, it's very common to see patients becoming depressed and anti-social.

    It's a vicious cycle if the injured can't get the initial injury under control.  People say that when they look into a mirror after suffering a back injury and all the problems that can associate themselves directly or as secondarily, they never see the same person they once were.  

    It can be pure devastation to someone who's used to living an active life.
