What are the visa requirements for Australians to visit thailand?

  1. Visa on entry 30 days free

Thailand Tourist Visa from the Thai consulate in Australia or other country before arriving in Thailand

The Thailand tourist visa allows a maximum stay of 60 days from arrival into Thailand. This is classified as a single entry and the tourist has to arrive into Thailand within 90 days from the issue date of the visa. A double entry visa is valid for 6 months(still only 60 days maximum stay).

    Documents Required

Passport valid for at least 6 months from date of departure from Thailand.

    Completed and signed application form.

    2 passport sized photographs

  2. National AUSTRALIA (AU)         /Embarkation AUSTRALIA (AU)

    Destination THAILAND (TH)

Passport required, which must be valid at least 6 months and

    in good condition.

    1. If travelling for touristic purposes:

visa not required for a max. stay of 30 days.

Extension possible. Fee THB 1,900.- (1 photo required).

Note: there is a max. limit of a total of 90 days stay

within any 6 month period. Return/onward ticket is required.

    2. In all other cases: visa required.

Travel on one-way ticket is permitted.

  3. You are visa exempt for 30 days at no cost.  If you want to stay longer you can apply for a tourist visa that is valid for 60 days and can be extended once at an immigrations office for an addition 30 days at a cost of 1,900 baht.  Or after your 30 days are up you can do what is know as a visa run to a near by border, i.e. Cambodia.  cross the border and return and get an additional 30 days.  Tour agents can arrange these visa runs.  You can do this twice for a total of 90 days in Thailand.  I recommend the tourist visa if staying longer then 30 days.
