Was the Ballysax Stakes a good race this year? It’s has previously signposted Derby winners Galileo and High Chaparral but was this year’s race up to that class.

The winner, Puncher Clynch, won a handicap at Dundalk on his previous run so it’s a little hard to believe that he is now going to be a Derby candidate.
