Despite wearing ludicrous glasses, Dennis Taylor did manage to win the World Championship.

The year was 1985: the first episode of Eastenders was broadcast, Live Aid took place and the first Super Mario Bros game was released by Nintendo. But most important, Taylor was crowned champion of the world.
