Steve Williams: I have lost all respect for Tiger woods
It seems that the already troubled Tiger Woods has set himself up for another episode of controversy after his caddie Steve Williams came out and revealed that he had lost all the respect he once had for the golfer.
Williams was informed via Tiger Woods’ official website that his services were no longer required by the golfer. This enraged the caddie, who told the press that he was shocked at the behaviour of Woods.
On Monday, however, Williams spoke his heart out, commenting on his experience working with Woods and the hardships he faced in the past two years. He said that he had lost “a tremendous amount of respect” for the golfer after Woods announced the split publicly
last week calling it, “time for a change.”
Williams caddied for Woods in 72 tournaments, out of which 13 were majors. He always had Woods’ back when the troubled golfer would face criticism on his off-field antics and supported him in his hardest of times. One would argue then, that it’s not surprising
to see Williams’ reaction after Woods fired him.
If anything, it was Williams who got surrounded by media after news on Tiger Woods’ s*x scandals broke out. The 47-year-old had questions thrown at him wherever he would go with his own family, and he had to be in the limelight covering for Woods.
In that course of time, Williams and Woods were not on talking terms either, as their wives were also very good friends.
The incident did strain their relationship, but Williams decided to back Woods, only to be fired after two years.

The 47-year-old narrated, “That was the most difficult period that I’ve ever been through in my life. I took it probably a lot better than my wife and family did, but there’s no way that I should have been put through that. My name should have been cleared
immediately. It wasn’t and that’s what makes it even more disappointing what’s transpired. I never really got pardoned from that scandal so the timing of it is extraordinary. You could say I’ve wasted two years of my life.”
Williams, who hails from New Zealand and is now carrying bags for Adam Scott, stressed that changing the caddie was normal, but the way Woods fired him was just disrespectful.
The reason for Woods’ decision to fire Williams is still unknown and no one is sure as to why 14-major winner would’ve felt the need to do so, considering he is going through one of the worst phases, both on and off the field.
One speculation did hint towards Williams’ partnership with Adam Scott, and Woods’ doubting Williams’ loyalty. However, unless Woods comments on the matter himself, the reason will stay under wraps.
