Vinci is the defending champion here but is ranked world No. 54, while Schiavone is the world No. 17 and has been winning pretty comfortably here. Schiavone has the 3-1 winning record going into this match, but Vinci won their most recent match, at the semi-finals here in 2009, which just happens to be the only time the pair have played one another on clay. Tough call.
