Roy Oswalt gets the torch to prolong the NLCS to game 7
On Thursday, Roy Halladay made up for his loss to Tim Lincecum in game 1 of the National League Championship (NLCS) by beating his counterpart in game 5 and leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 2 – 3 tally in the series. The game was won by a resurgent
East side that had lost focus in the earlier games against the San Francisco Giants. However, now with some motivation back in the hands of the players, the team will be looking for a win in game 6, through Roy Oswalt. The player who has been somewhat, of
a consistent performer in the side will have a hard task at hand as his post season record, this year gives no clear indication on what he will come out with on the mound.
In game 2, the quick pitcher was upbeat with valour as the man downed the Giants in a shut down,  winning the game for the team with a 6 – 1 score line. In addition to that, the maestro was instrumental in defending as he allowed just 1 run from 3 hits.
However, the reason his track record worries most supporters out in the nation is the fact that he lost his first game in the post season against the Cincinnati Reds and went out to lose the 4th game in the NLCS as reliever, by allowing 1 run in
2 hits.
Given his form, no one knows for sure what to expect from the pitcher but if the management has passed on the task to him, there must be a reason. Either there are no pitchers in right swing for the contest or maybe Oswalt has proved to the coach he’s ready
to take on the Giants.
Roy offered a few words of insight into the match scheduled ahead. He said, “You've got a little more adrenaline going when you go out there in the postseason. But you still have to treat it as a game, and that's what it is. You can't get caught up in the
moment of trying to get the momentum back on your side. You have to pitch your game. From the very beginning, I told myself, all you can give is 100 percent. If it ain't good enough that night, go try to get it next time.”
