Activision has teased a few screenshots and a bit of info on the upcoming DLC pack for the best-selling game in the history of mankind - Includes 2 new maps and co-op.
When Activision released the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game way back when, they made the DLC formula of offering additional content for a premium mainstream. It would be done before as well but in a way, Modern Warfare paved the way for every
publisher to do so as well.
Continuing its trend setting ways, the publisher launched a service which everyone knows as Call of Duty Elite. The social networking site based on the CoD theme may be free for everyone who purchased a copy of the studio’s latest game, yet the real benefit
of the service is for those members who subscribe to the premium package.
DLC drops are made available first to the premium subscribers before everyone else and one can expect other studios to follow suit in the near future. Yet, for the time being Activision have announced what Premium subscribers will be getting before everyone
else in the near future.
The latest DLC has one new multiplayer map (Black Box) and two new co-op Spec Ops missions (Black Ice and Negotiator) included in it.
Activision described that Black Box could cater to both snipers and players who like things a little more up close and personal as well.
“With clear sight lines from house to house, however, snipers are far from safe, with counter-sniping an ever-present threat to their dominance. Those that prefer close-quarters combat can succeed in the tight confines of the crashed airplane or in hunting
down enemies posted up within any of the surrounding homes.”
As for the two Spec Ops missions (Black Ice and Negotiator), well one map will have players “Shred ice from aboard your snowmobile as you infiltrate a diamond mine” while Negotiator with see players, “Cash in all your karma as you head to India for a high0stakes
hostage extraction.”
The DLC is available for premium Elite subscribers on the 13th of March, while everyone else will have to wait until the 20th of the month before they get access to it.
