Juventus FC’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adrian-Mutu-c3742’s replacement – Serie A Update
Juventus FC attacking midfielder, Jorge Martinez, is reportedly on his way out of Turin at the end of the 2010/11 season. Fellow Serie A outfit, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ACF-Fiorentina-c38209, are keen to acquire the versatile midfielder and have been tracking the Uruguayan for some time
now. The Old Lady has struggled for good form this season, prompting Martinez to consider his options for the upcoming summer transfer window.
La Voila are entering the transfer market with hopes to find a replacement for the striker Adrian Mutu, who was also acquired from Juve in 2006 for 8 million Euros. Mutu had been out of action since the start of 2010 as the player was suspended following
a failed doping test last year. The player returned to action after six months only to be ousted by the club for disciplinary reasons.
The Gigliati banned the striker after breach of contract rules and regulations, but the Romanian international apologized publically for his actions and was reinstated to the first team. The striker has been struggling to find good form, scoring just 4 goals
in 16 games this term. Acquiring Jorge Martinez as Mutu’s replacement will be a great development for La Voila as the Uruguayan International will add strength to the midfield and power to the attack.
Martinez has been struggling to find consistency with the Lady Killers. In his first season with the Turin giants, the winger has failed to open his scoring in spite of making 12 appearances for the Old Lady. The winger has been seen warming the bench throughout
the campaign.
The attacking midfielder’s contract with the Bianconeri runs until the summer of 2015 but Martinez is keen to seek a way out in order to garner first-team football. His long-term contract at Juve means that the winger will not be given away on cheap. Fiorentina
will have to dig deep in their pockets if they are to take the Uruguayan to Stadio Artemio Franchi.
