Also, do recordable Blu-Ray DVD's exist yet? Can you tell I haven't been keeping with Blu-Ray technology? I know that you can make perfect 1:1 copies of a standard DVD, but how about Blu-Ray's?

  1. You can get a blu-ray drive for your your computer for about $200 dollars... If you have that you can use a program called dvd shrink to put the movie on your hard drive in really good quality

  2. You can get Blu-Ray burners now (they are out on the market now)

As for copying, it depends what operating system you use, what software you use, and if you are connected to the internet or not, the only problem you have to worry about is DRM, if you are connected to the internet, use Vista, and use a Blu-Ray copying program that dosen't crack the copy protection, you are just asking for DRM related copy errors

First try Linux (I don't know of this will make a difference, but you never know), next look for a DRM cracking Blu-Ray copy program, and it may help if you are not connected to the internet, that way DRM protection downloads don't unknowingly block you from copying

I have never tried it before, so I have no idea, but hopefully the tips above will help

  3. Yes you can copy blu ray disks.

However, the recordable medium is more expensive than the movies themselves.
