Never pay up front, and always make sure you do some in depth research on the company online.  If it sounds too good to be true, it is.  

Its always a good sign when you run a youtube search and people sing the companie's praises, like for the Royal Holiday resort search: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NQsRcaPF...

Make sure you have found somewhere that people have had success with the company before you buy!

To resale or rent  a timeshare is a hard task, the basic rule is not to pay money up-front, don’t be another victim of a scam.
