Raina, the 25-year-old batsman hailing from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 get back on track.
Replying to a query regarding his tactics of launching a counter-assault against the Tim Southee-led http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 pace attack, Raina said that he just played his natural game, but only when the ball was in his area to be hit.
“Whenever I got the ball in my area, I made sure to bat positively because http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 was going really great against us. So this is the style I would like to play in Test cricket, but at the same time, I need to control my aggression,” said the hard-hitting left-handed batsman during a post-day media interaction.
"I need to judge the line and length. I am getting better. I have done well in ODIs, so hopefully, I will be better in Test cricket too," he added further.
However, he was not happy with the way he was dismissed – caught behind off http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TG-Southee-c2659.
"It's unfortunate for me to get out twice in the same manner. I am very disappointed,” said Raina, who was caught behind for the second time in the ongoing series. “I was aiming for a long innings which didn't come,” he added further.
Raina, a veteran of 151 One Day Internationals, has played only 16 Tests so far, and averages just 28.52, with a century and six half-centuries in his name. It is pertinent to mention here that Raina’s Test debut (July 2010) came five years after his ODI debut. His T20 International debut also came back in 2006.
