I had a big electrical storm last night and now my Microwave oven will not work. The light comes on.?

  1. What ever circuit breaker it's on, turn it off for a few seconds then turn it back on. Sometimes this will work. It's worth a try.

    Everytime I get an interuption in the electric from a storm, my DVD player comes on when the power comes back on. Strange, but that's the way electronics are.


  2. I doubt your microwave is on its own circuitbreaker, but go to the box and see if anything is thrown.  It's possible there is a fuse in the microwave, but I don't think it's accessible for the consumer.

    In general, when microwaves get sick or die, it's best to get another one.  You don't want to take a chance on them emitting their rays into your living space.  Not any more than usual, that is!
