Remarkably, Jones has designed more than 500 golf courses, mainly in the US, though he's also worked in Spain and England. Receiving the 1987 Old Tom Morris Award from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America,  Jones was also inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1987.
