For Guest3435 - it probably does mean the battery is low, but it's referring to the battery in the locked cabinet.  Go searching in your house for the main security system alarm cabinet (a small metal cabinet), and open it.  There is a large battery in the system that it used for when the power goes out.  Either disconnect the battery terminal wires and replace it, or disconnect and unhook 120V transformer from nearby wall outlet to totally shut down system.  Good luck.
