China’s Chen Long showed impressive skills when he toppled England’s Ben Beckman in Men’s Singles encounter and helped his team to win the team-event competition against England with a 5-0 margin at Thomas Cup Finals 2012 at Wuhan, China, on Sunday, May

Long, who has been positioned at number three in Men’s Singles world placements, delivered a staggering performance and thrashed his lower ranked English challenger in straight games in a striking fashion.
The higher ranked Chinese made his home fans happy while playing fast and attacking badminton and he did not spare any chance for his English opponent in the whole fight and ended it in straight games.
On the other hand, Beckman could not show even a meagre resistance against his firing opponent and bowed to him without creating a strong impact in just 31 minutes.
In the first game, Long started his campaign in a dominating manner as he played attacking badminton and did not face even a slight problem in setting up a tremendous lead at the early stage.
The higher ranked Chinese was smooth in his movement in the court and he did not face any trouble in taking a stunning lead of 11-3 until the mid-game interval.
After the break, he continued playing in the similar striking fashion without losing his focus in the game and bagged it with an incredible 21-5 score on the board.
In the second game, Beckman tried to remain close to his higher ranked Chinese rival but failed to dominate the pace and remained struggling in picking up the bird early.
In the meanwhile, the Chinese continued playing remarkable badminton without dropping his speed at any stage in the game and easily grabbed an impressive lead of 11-5 until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the English shutter gave up fighting as he was miles behind his rival on the board and was lacking the impressive touch in his play.
Long was fully focused while playing in front of his home fans and won the set with a one-sided score of 21-5.
