I am currently about to fail 2 college classes at Columbus State Community College. If I can prove that I was under a bout of sudden clinical depression with a note from a doctor, can I clear my gpa for the quarter and be spared of financial aid restriction and still be able to continue with classes on a future date? What are the rules regarding this?

  1. i agreed with above answer but my personal exp. is that u have to contact academics deptt. i think so that just like our university they have i grade system it means for the time being they will gonna freeze you F grades but after sometime u just appear for exams and clear your paper this need med. ceritificate.

  2. This is something you can appeal to your school and they will handle it on a case by case basis.  No one here is going to be able to tell you with any certainty what they will do.  Speak to your academic adviser and find out what the correct procedure is to appeal any restrictions.  If this is the first time your GPA has dipped they usually put you on academic probation first and give you a chance to improve in the next semester.

  3. Yes.  You might have to petition for it, but probably not.

  4. Right here where I am (UCLA), you could declare the term non-attendance... can't you just drop out of the classes?

the same thing happened to a friend of mine last quarter and she had to drop every class, but it didn't affect her GPA.
