As far as child development is it correct to hear a 2 year old say sandra, can the mouth and tounge make this sound? Like people say that the first word a baby pronounces is usually "dada" cause its easiest for the mouth, so can SAN-drah, SAHN-drah be said?

  1. Probably!!!! :D

Sandra is such a beautiful name...

but you never know if she/he will be able to pronounce it!! I bet though.

  2. Well my daughter still can't say dada, she is 1 year old. She can say mama, papa, mom, bell though.

  3. It depends on the child. My dd could talk very well at 1. My son is 2 and he can only say a few things.

  4. Yes, my little sister is 2 and she calls me SAHN-DRAH.

  5. I just called my 2 yo in here to ask him to say SAN-drah and he said it fine.  He talks a lot though.  He has a little friend who is the same age and he only says a few words, he can't even pronounce "mommy" correctly, so there is a wide range of what is normal.  If you are concerned about speech development you can ask your pediatrician where you can get a free speech evaluation.
