Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery pleased to play alongside – Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich winger, Franck Ribery, has expressed delight playing under the leadership of Philipp Lahm. He has full of confidence in the abilities of the German full back and wished to keep playing alongside the defender for as long as possible.  Ribery
reckoned that Lahm is the safest option at the back which allows him to play freely up front.
Ribery hailed Lahm’s abilities further, saying that the 27-year-old has been a source of inspiration for the German giants. The French international believes that Lahm’s presence in gives a free hand to the midfielders and the strikers upfront. Ribery
is of the belief that Lahm is the ideal captain and urged the Munich officials to stick with the German in that role for the future.
The winger also remembered the times when he played under the former manager, Louis van Gaal, and regarded it as one of the difficult periods of his career.
In an interview to a local news channel, Ribery added, "I have had two good years with Philipp, I know what he does, he knows what I'm doing and this is automatic, I can play with my eyes closed with him. It was very hard for two years, and before that I
played under [Jurgen] Klinsmann and [Ottmar] Hitzfeld which was very good."
The French winger was confident that Munich would not even consider a new for the side until Lahm stays at the club. He also hoped that the Bavarians would add another Bundesliga title to their name the next season.
Striker Thomas Mueller, on the other hand, was confident about his first team chances in Munich’s line-up. He claimed that the arrival of Nils Petersen won’t hamper his chances of making into the starting XI and at the same time wished the 22-year-old all
the very best for his debut season with the club.
Mueller concluded the talks by saying, "I'm not afraid, there is always competition, but if you put in the effort then you end up playing."
Bayern Munich will host Borussia Monchengladbach in their opening game of the 2011/12 Bundesliga campaign.
