Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirms Robin van Persie will play against Blackburn Rovers

Robin van Persie, who is enjoying his prime form in the ongoing 2010-11 season, suffered a knock in Netherlands’ 5-3 win over on Tuesday. The 27-year-old striker scored the opening goal for Oranje before he limped off the field due to a knee injury.
Initially, it was being feared that Arsenal would be without the services of Persie for at least one month.
However, Arsene Wenger confirmed that the Dutch striker underwent a successful training session and had a positive fitness test result. Persie’s addition to the squad will surely boost Arsenal chances against Blackburn Rovers.
Moreover, Arsenal long-term absentees Cesc Fabregas, have all been declared fit to play against Blackburn Rovers. The trio’s addition will certainly lift Arsenal’s odds in the Premier League title chase.
However, Arsene Wenger feels that all of his players will have to give their best performances in the remaining League matches in order to win the title after a long time.
Wenger said, “I think what will decide our season now is our performances until the end of the season and therefore you want of course your key players.”
Arsenal are currently placed second in the Premier League, five points adrift of League leaders Manchester United. The Gunners also have a game in hand. The north London giants are the only side left in the League which can prevent Manchester United from
winning the record 19th title, which will take Sir Alex Ferguson’s men ahead of in the overall title race.
Moreover, Arsenal will play Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium in May 2011 which will potentially decide the title.
