  1. Sometimes we are. The first couple months are hard on everybody. there are always a few dropouts at that point. It is a little bit of an adjustment getting used to studying a lot more.

You soon learn to find a balance between school and having a life, although that balance is tipped more towards school than it was in undergrad.

That other poster is way off. We try not to think about money at all, except when filling out financial aid paperwork. I am over $100000 in debt and only halfway done. If I dwelled on that I would go nuts. We only get paid $45000 when we start residency.

  2. Yes...you make $45K/yr as a resident. My cousin just finished his anethesia residency and has a hand full of offers from around the country ranging from $125K to $140K. The lower offer included med school loan repayments if he stayed for 4-years.

  3. Yeah their crazy like a fox.  When these students graduate think of the money they will be making when they complete their studies.  Especially in they are good in their chosen fields.

  4. They have to be.  Why else would anyone put themselves through all of that torture?

They're not just crazy, but also driven to perfection, very hard workers, and very intelligent.

The ones who are thinking about money are in LAW school.  Duh.

  5. Yes. If they aren't from the start, subjecting themselves to all that work, then the mental fatigue and sleep deprivation get them there soon enough.
