How can I change my truck so that I can have smaller 5 bolt wheels instead of my bigger 6 bolt wheels? My truck is a 1988 GMC "Heavy Half".

  1. Spend a lot of money on wheel adapters. They run about $125 a wheel and are not too safe.

  2. Adapters but the offset may have issues on the hubs & bearings> If smaller rim size make sure the calipers don't rub>

  3. Why not get wheels that bolt up to 5 lugs? I think it is better to find a set of wheels that will easily bolt up and cheaper too. You would have to buy 5 wheels instead of four.

  4. -eight bolts are better than 7,. 6 is better than 5 ,.and around they go,.

  5. DONT DO IT it can really mess your truck up

  6. Not sure if possible. You can stop by rim and tire shop to see if they have adapter 6 lugs to 5 lugs, but one thing make your tire stick out few inches.
