Crickets, although annoying as all get out, they don't bite.  And they're not huge and hairy either.

it depends on the breed on the tarantula.i'd prefer the 1000 crickets as they are not harmless,anyway.they are even the nature's thermometer.

but some tarantulas have poisonous bites that is very fatal and can kill a human so you could understand me if i want the crickets...

I would not be worried about either bugs in my home, i am not scared of insects.
