  1. The match does not stop play like in American Football.

  2. considering any rugby league forwrad can do over 20km in a game... i would say so

  3. Isn't the answer obvious? Cardiovascular endurance is important in all sports except maybe golf and nascar. Rugby demands great physical endurance just as soccer and football do. Running the entire time can really wear you down, but with excellent cardio endurance a true athlete can keep up. Rugby demands cardio endurance, but not as much as underwater rugby. LOL

  4. Because you run more than Forest Gump in a rugby game and if you dont do cardio it can show in your performance.I was never really fit,the first 20 min of my game was excellent and I will kick 95% of my place kicks over the poles in the 1st 20 min but because my cardio wasnt that goo,I would always get quite in second half and my place kicking and decision making becomes horrible. So cardio also effects your decisions.

  5. 80 min of running, diving and tackling.need i say more?

  6. CV endurance is important in all sports.

In Rugby you are constantly running. Defense - Run up, tackle, get back onside or chase down oppositions possible try scorer. Hit ups take a lot out of players. Offense - Running the ball up, keeping up with play, fast breaks.

Rubgy is a sport where CV endurance is vital. No one wants a player that is good for 1 fast break, then needs a sub. You want someone that can reproduce throughout the match.

  7. Unlike American Professional Sports, when rugby is played well they don't have breakages in play. No TV timeouts, no timeouts, no 1/4 time breaks, zilch. Only got 1/2 time and only allowed 6 substitutions, with departing players unable to return unless for an injury replacement.
